1. Leeds, York & South
Take the A64 North signed Scarborough, then turn off onto the A169 to Pickering. At the Big roundabout turn RIGHT onto the A170 to Scarborough.

a. Toll Road option: At Thornton le Dale turn LEFT at the X roads at the bottom of the hill, its signed Dalby Village. After 1 mile turn RIGHT onto the Dalby Forest Drive - the Langdale Quest is well signed from here on....Toll fee of £7.00 is payable when using this route.

b. Toll FREE option: From Pickering continue towards Scarborough on the A170, when you come into a village called EBBERSTONE you will pass a Pub on the right called the GRAPES, just after turn LEFT, up a single track road. Don't worry, you can't go wrong, just follow this road for approx 3 miles, it then turns to a GRAVEL road (its well maintained). Continue along & at the first junction turn RIGHT, at the second junction turn LEFT, the road will then turn back to tarmac. Follow the Tarmac road & after a mile or so you will see signs for the Langdale Quest.

2. East Coast & HULL
Head towards STAXTON on the A64, then follow the A64 towards Scarborough. At the next big roundabout turn left to Seamer. At the next small roundabout in Seamer head towards East & West Ayton. At the next roundabout go straight over signed Pickering A170. Shortly after you will see a petrol station on the LEFT, just after turn RIGHT - signed HACKNESS & FORGE VALLEY. Follow this road all the way to Hackness, at the T junction turn LEFT. You will soon pass the Hackness Grange Hotel on your left. Continue along the road for another 2 miles or so. You will then enter the village of Langdale End. Again continue along, you will go over a small bridge & up a steep hill, the road then levels out along the top of the ridge. Continue along until you come to a Junction (there is a red telephone box on it) at this point you will see signs for the Langdale Quest & you need to turn RIGHT.

3. Whitby area
Head down the A171 towards SCARBOROUGH, when you pass the FLASK cafe & camp site on the RIGHT continue along, you will then, after a mile or so, see a turning to the RIGHT signed Harwood Dale. Turn off the Main road & follow the road to Harwood Dale. Don't turn into the village, instead keep right at the junction & you will go up a long steep hill, after another mile or so you will come into the village of SUFFIELD. Continue along past CHRIS KAYS agricultural suppliers, after another mile of so, you will arrive at the village of Hackness. Follow the road round & past the Hackness Grange Hotel. Continue along the road for another 2 miles or so. You will then enter the village of Langdale End, again continue along, you will go over a small bridge & up a steep hill, the road then levels out along the top of the ridge. Continue along until you come to a Junction (there is a red telephone box on it) at this point you will see signs for the Langdale Quest & you need to turn RIGHT.
