Off Road Logistics

Over the past 15 years the team at Moorland Adventure Sport have build up a wide range of skills in negotiating areas of terrain which prove impassable to most 'normal' forms of transport.

With 1000's of hours 'hands on' experience in operating a range of specalist off road vehicles we have the equipment & operators who can get the job done.

Our equipment is not only extreemly capable of negotiating some of the harshest terrain, all vehicles also meet road traffic regulations & can be used on the Public highways - eliminating the requirement of loading & unloading when crossing highways etc.

Previous contracts include work for companies such as:

• IMC Geophysics - we provided off-road recovery using out Unimog 4x4 truck, men & equipment transportation using our Supacat Mk II 6x6 & Argocat 8x8 amphibious vehicles together with a number of ATV Quad bikes allowing the linesmen & blasting teams to travel driectly along the lines, greatly speeding up the operations. More recent contracts with this company have involved the transportation of heavy 1000kg air compressors to aid drilling work.
• Nissan GB, Skoda & Ford - off-road route planning allowing the manufacturers to demonstrate their 4x4 vehicles in the most rugged of terrain whilst maintaining a high reliability factor - most important when running a press launch!
• Effas emergency first aid - providing Yamaha Wolverine 4x4 quads & Argocat 8x8 vehicles together with qualified & experienced operators all of which are First Aid trained.  We provided off-road logistical support for the paramedic team covering the RBS Caledonian Challenge which covered 54 miles of off-road route passing around Ben Nevis, Kinlochleven, Devil's staircase & ending at Loch Lomond.  
• University of York - we helped to transport students & experimental equipment deep into the heart of the Welsh mountains using our Supacat 6x6 vehicle.

In previous years many companies have just leased or purchased the vehicles which they feel are suitable to negotiate the terrain in hand, without much consideration to the skills required to drive the vehicles or the HSE requirements. This method usually fails, resulting in much higher costs & usually damage to the vehicles & environment, not to mention delays in the schedule.
